Fifth Avenue Cupola
Description
This gorgeous three-story cupola is located on top of a Beaux Arts apartment building in the Ladies Mile Landmark District and was designed Henry Edwards Fricken in 1899. Nicholson & Galloway was hired in 2014 to perform a full replacement of the cupola cladding including:
- Salvage of sheetmetal shapes for replication
- Demolition of all cladding
- 1,000 linear feet of stainless steel armature
- 275 Custom copper stampings fabricated and installed
- 800 Linear feet of steel cleaned and painted
- 3,500 Square feet of stucco and breathable vapor barrier
- 1,000 Square feet curved copper batten seam roof
- 3,000 Square feet crimped copper cladding
