Knickerbocker Club

Description

The Knickerbocker was founded in 1871, with its neo-Georgian club house being completed in 1915. Nicholson and Galloway was contracted to restore the façade and roof of the structure over the course of three phases. The work included:

• Full façade restoration
• New copper mansard with steel structure
• Stone masonry restoration
• Clay tile restoration
• Joint sealant removal and replacement
• Restoration of cornice and balustrade
• New roof and pavers at penthouse terrace
• Restoration of 2nd floor balcony
• New steel outrigger assembly at cornice and 2nd floor balcony
• Cast iron projecting bay restoration
