Gould Memorial Library

Inspired by the Pantheon, designed by McKim, Mead and White and constructed in 1899, Gould Memorial Library is a world-famous monument as well as an individual New York City Landmark. After 120 years the original stamped copper roofing and ornament was severely deteriorated and leakage was widespread, so Nicholson & Galloway was contracted to perform the following work:
- 12,000 square feet of asbestos abatement
- 250 square feet of Guastavino tile repairs and replacement
- 3,600 square feet Sikalastic liquid membrane flat roofing and gutters
- 6,200 square feet of EPDM underlayment
- 6,200 square feet of stainless steel armature
- 6,200 square feet of custom stamped copper shingles
- 3,800 square feet of flat lock copper roofing, underlayment & plywood
- 240 linear feet of copper cornice
- 312 stamped copper ornament (Antifix)
- 200 square foot aluminum and glass cupola skylight
- 440 linear feet of permanent fall protection track
