Fifth Avenue Cupola

Description

This gorgeous three-story cupola is located on top of a Beaux Arts apartment building in the Ladies Mile Landmark District and was designed Henry Edwards Fricken in 1899. Nicholson & Galloway was hired in 2014 to perform a full replacement of the cupola cladding including:

  • Salvage of sheetmetal shapes for replication
  • Demolition of all cladding
  • 1,000 linear feet of stainless steel armature
  • 275 Custom copper stampings fabricated and installed
  • 800 Linear feet of steel cleaned and painted
  • 3,500 Square feet of stucco and breathable vapor barrier
  • 1,000 Square feet curved copper batten seam roof
  • 3,000 Square feet crimped copper cladding
