Lincoln Park Fountain

Description

Nicholson & Galloway was hired by Jersey City to restore their 1911 landmark fountain located in Lincoln Park. It was the largest concrete fountain in the United States at the time of construction. Constructed of pigmented precast concrete it suffered from extensive damage to include spalling, cracking and water leaks. Our scope of work was as follows:

  • Demolished the entire basin outer wall
  • 60 precast sculptures were removed and salvaged for replication
  • Replacement of all electrical and plumbing systems
  • Replacement of the concrete basin and outer walls with shotcrete
  • Concrete restoration of the balance of the center sculpture
  • Performed landscaping and hardscaping
