Manhattan Savings Bank

Description

Built almost fifty years ago, this art deco style, gray granite building was topped with a dome covered in handmade terra cotta tiles that had begun to leak.

We installed a new, customized anodized aluminum dome fabricated of interlocking, pie-shaped panels. Because the building’s structure was sound and could carry additional load, we left the old tile roof in place and installed the new roof directly over the old one.

A single-ply rubber roofing system was installed at the base of the dome’s drum wall and on the adjacent lower roofs.

We cleaned the granite façade and completed an extensive pointing and caulking program.
