Cathedral School

Description

Constructed by Episcopal Diocese in 1912 from Germantown Schist and Indian Limestone, this New York City Individual Landmark originally served as the Choir School to the Cathedral. By 2016 the School had outgrown its available space and commenced construction on a new addition which was carefully designed by Ennead Architects to respect the Collegiate Gothic style of the original building. Nicholson & Galloway was hired to perform the following work:

  • 2800 square feet of reinforced CMU
  • 2100 square feet of air vapor barrier and insulation
  • 5 precast concrete arches
  • 2400 square feet of new random ashlar granite cladding
  • 5 limestone arches
  • 180 linear feet of limestone copings
