The General Theological Seminary covers one full
square block in the Chelsea section of Manhattan. The numerous
buildings which make up the complex were constructed at
various periods throughout the Nineteenth and Twentieth
Centuries, and the complex is landmarked by the New York
Landmarks Preservation Commission.
From
2001 to 2004
Nicholson & Galloway restored the exteriors of Sherred
Hall, Lorillard Hall and White & Edson Hall. The work
of this project included:
•
9,000 square feet of plywood roof decks
• 9,000 square feet of Vermont Slate
• 100% new copper gutters and flashings
• Extensive roof truss repairs
• 100% masonry repointing
• 9 ornate chimneys rebuilt
• 300 square feet brownstone replacement
• 1 copper cupola entirely rebuilt
• 100% new lightning protection
As
always, all work was supervised and performed by Nicholson
& Galloway’s own personnel. |
